Hello, my name is Christopher Helmers. I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Cincinnati in the Health Education Program focused on fitness and exercise. Having grown up in Cincinnati, I've been thankful enough to attend an at-home university, being able to commute from home to school and also participate on the UC cheer team for the past two years while continuing my studies.

Previously, I was a student in the athletic training program at the University of Cincinnati until I made the switch to Health Education. I have a very educated background in the medical field and am hoping to transfer that knowledge into my health education future. I've always been interested in sports and helping others better themselves for their own personal self. Athletic training was something that I was very passionate about but realized that it wasn't something I was going to feel comfortable doing for the rest of my life.

When choosing an internship site, I really wanted to work with high school athletes. I've always loved helping younger kids excel at their hobbies and by incorporating health education into their lives, I felt, would be extremely important. I chose to work with LaSalle High School and their football team as an assistant strength coach. I am a current Almuni of LaSalle High school('13) and was very thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to work with an amazing group of athletes.
